Open Enrollment Free Group 30 Minute Hope Meditation Practice
Open Enrollment Free Group 30 Minute Hope Meditation Practice
Planting seeds of hope. Join us for a 30 minute, collective rest, a self-love practice, rooted in healing and grounded in hope, as a resistance to the grind culture. Unplug from the disruption, distraction and pull of social media, the culture wars, and a profit over people ethos.
We re-define wellness and self care that embraces rest, sets boundaries, holds to self-compassion, core identity and believes in the personal power to create social change.
Some may ask, what does a yoga practice, exploring wellness and healing have to do with social justice?
We say everything.
” Imagine a world without oppression.
Take more time here.
Visualize softness.
Breathe deep.
Envision a world centered in justice.
Stay here.” Trisha Hersey. Author, Rest is a Resistance.
Based on the two books, Rest as a Resistance, a Manifesto, by Trisha Hersey and Real Self-Care A Transformation Program For Redefining Wellness, by Dr. Pooja Lakshmin, a regular, Hope Practice was originally designed to support people with illness, loss, and chronic pain. Both are frame works to help people to unravel from the urgency of life and activate one or more of four different types of coping:
Problem Solving- defining a task to move your forward.
Emotion Regulation - reducing moments of stress.
Activating Core Identity - connecting with a deeper sense of self
Relational Coping - engaging with mentors and important people in your life.
This workshop is a total of 8 hours. Two chapters in two-hour sessions which is facilitated by a certified yoga and wellness instructor, Doreen Nicastro.
Each will start and end with a breathing meditation and welcome.
Participants will set the ground rules.
