In the United States, systemic racism is hurting all of us, but it's killing Black and Brown Americans at alarming rates and with impunity. If this statement scares, elicits anger, makes you feel guilty, uncomfortable, curious or you are in disbelief, the movie and reflection discussions are for you.
You may not have learned about this in your history class but the movie, Till, is a must see. It is an American tragedy of Mamie Till, an African American mother, her family, her only child, the young beautiful Emmett Till. It is also an American story about each of us, and a country, that allows the manifestation of hate and racism to divide the soul of our American life today.
Session Two: is to participate in a facilitated community discussion. We open with a mindfulness meditation. We watch the second hour of the movie TILL and discuss what individuals can do in spaces they show up in to dismantle hate and systemic racism.
4 Corners Yoga + Wellness holds a brave space to discuss important issues which impact all bodies.
